6 Miles, 6 Lakes, (And a Little More Than ) 60 Minutes - An Orlando Run in Pictures...

Recently, while reading a post over at Tall Mom on the Run, about the change of seasons and how she was able to capture her running path in the same place, in all four seasons, in photos, I started to think about, as many of us in the southern regions mentioned, the fact that we don't have a true change in seasons that really stands out like most of the country does.  And that got me to thinking: "Well, we might not have seasons to share, but what I can share is how absolutely beautiful our own little (urban) corner of the world  is - a place we can run outside year-round." Orlando is called "The City Beautiful" after all.

So last weekend, as I was out for Long Run Sunday (6.3 miles - yes, ALL 6.3!), I decided to capture my run in photos and share it with you guys.  Later that afternoon, armed with camera, I headed back out in the car, and 'photo-journaled' my run that day, which by the way, took a little longer than 60 minutes, but guess what - I did the entire 6.3 miles with only one 30-second walk in mile #2.  Woo Hoo!  What a difference temp/humidity really DO make! (Notice the jackets in some of the pictures... a rarity in Orlando - maybe 20 days out of an entire year - seriously!)

Here it is, friends - running in downtown Orlando:  6 miles, 6 lakes, and (a little more than) 60 minutes.... Enjoy!

So now that you've seen our corner of the world, I'm wondering:  What does your region look like??

Happy running, friends...

Robin

Florida is so pretty! My sister lives in the Tampa area and we love when we get to go visit her. Enjoy your nice winter weather for running, that is the best season!

Such a cool post. It's BEAUTIFUL in Central, IL right now-- lots of fall colors. Maybe I'll steal your idea and take some pix on my next run!

Hey miss Robin! Great pics of Orlando!! I talked to Morgan about running the morning after Halloween together and told her if you were in town, you might come too......but, I am a big mess right now. I am still having knee issues and haven't run in a full week!! I am also suffering from some sort of neck, shoulder hip issue ( it's all full of knots and I can't turn my neck very well) Sooooooo.... not sure what this week will hold and not sure if I will even be running by Sunday.....I am so depressed and frustrated!!!
You did a fantastic job on your 6.3 miles!!! Yay!!!!

Very cool slide show. I think the trail that I run on is kinda boring but I guess I need to look at it in a different light. Congrats on your 6.3 miles!

I live in Tall Mom's neck of the woods, but I have family in FL, so I know what you are talking about. But, hello, you have Disney!

Crap: what a boring neighbourhood I'm living in seeing this pictures. It's beautiful, I would enjoy so much running there!

I will take you on a photograpic tour of my running route someday I promise but I have to then by bike because I hate to stop while I'm running and the pictures would be nasty if I make them during my run :)

Glad you guys enjoyed the photo tour... and a BIG thanks for those of you who decided to play along and share your neighborhoods on your blogs - fantastic! Cari, IL is GORGEOUS - you weren't kidding!

Fran, I do hope you'll share w/ us soon. :-) I laughed soooo hard when I read your "crap" comment.

Yes Mel, come to FL - we'll run the lakes. Would love for everyone to visit!

Hugs to the crew,
Robin
