Monday Motivation - Week 17

"I run because I used to be envious of people
that could run,
and now I am that person."
                                                                                ~ Kendra Thompson

This quote rings especially true with me,
as someone who's never considered herself 'athletic.'

How about you?

I love this quote, and it's def true for me, one of the reasons I started running....because runners look SO cool!!!! Now I realize how much effort & dedication they put in to what they do and I'm in even more awe of anyone who runs. :)

Love the quote!
I've NEVER EVER considered myself athletic. I used to pretend sick in Gym class so I wouldn't have to participate.
The other day I caught a glimpse of my legs in the mirror and I could not believe what I saw ... Runners Legs!!

I've been overweight most of my life (hopefully not much longer
:0) ) but Ive always been able to work out play sports etc despite that. I didnt really consider myself a runner unil after my first 10K and probably even more so when I ran my first 9 miles in 13 degree weather up heartbreak hill last december. I am now training for my first marathon!!!

This definitely rings true for me as well. I was really jealous of our cross country team at school in high school and now I'm running farther than they did. It's pretty neat.

Great quote and it totally rings true for me too. I always thought people who ran were so cool and looked so fit and healthy...and I wanted that. I never really thought I could do it though...it seemed so difficult and not that much fun.

Now, I'm addicted and I love being a "runner" :)

So true. I always wanted to be one of those girls you see running with a friend chatting along. Now I am.

Great quote! This is definitely one of the reasons why I started running. I never thought I could do it, and I never saw the point of trying. I don't think I'm a runner just yet, but I'm enjoying getting there :)

I used to be athletic, but I still couldn't run. I always envied the people who could just throw on running shoes and run around the Charles river instead of driving to the boathouse, picking up a boat, putting it in the water, attaching the oars... So I love that I can run now, and enjoy running so much.

So true! It took me a long time to be able to call myself a runner! What is the true definition of a runner anyway? For me I felt like I had to run a marathon - and I did! But I haven't run another one, yet! :) I'll stick with 1/2 marathons right now!
