Friday Photo ~ Avocado Addiction!

I admit it.

I eat avocado before 12:00 noon.

In fact, this time of the year,
I eat avocado every chance I get.
Okay, one per day,
but you get the idea.

I'm addicted to the avocado.
I know.   I hear you.

They are high in fat and calories.  True.  But they're also high in potassium (Remember my recent post about  potassium?  Needed for cell hydration ... especially important in summer training) and theirs  is the 'good fat.'

The nutritional value of avocados is worth budgeting
your daily caloric intake to include this "super-food."

Anyone have the number to AEA?
Avocado Eaters Anonymous

I'm pretty sure I need a front-row seat....

*sigh*

By the way .....

Not sure which was better:

the mini bagel or egg whites
smeared with smashed avocado

The only thing missing:
a little fresh cilantro,
chopped and sprinkled
on top.

Happy running (and eating), friends...

Own your journey.  One run at a time.

I LOVE AVOCADO!!! Oh man. Oh sandwiches, eggs, soups, salads...it is just the best veggie (fruit?) ever created. I've tried to convince my family to plant an avocado tree, LOL

I love avocado! I make a spread that I put on bread/sandwiches. It's really simple if you want to try it:

Mash up 1 avocado, add 1-2 tablespoons of sour cream, sprinkle some chopped fresh cilantro in there, salt/pepper to taste, 1 small crushed garlic glove, and a squeeze of lime or lemon juice. It is really yummy! Only bad part is you can't really save it more than a day because avocado turns brown.

Yum yum yum. Today my boss and I had a convo at work about how there is nothing better than guacamole!

Unless you are eating it daily with a bag of chips, a margarita, or a few tacos, there is no room to criticize your choice.

I've increased my avocado intake substantially in the past couple years once I got over my since childhood aversion to them.

Wow! Looks like I'm in very good company! Fantastic! Thnx for the recipe, too!

@Amanda, glad to see you back... Hope Lucy is doing well! :)

@Kyle - would love the chips, margaritas, and tacos, but I'm sure you can guess: Not So Much. :) Every now and again, though....

I love avocados, too...and after many years of avoiding them because of the fat content, I'm now embracing them as part of my healthy eating lifestyle - woohoo! AEA - I'll meet you there. :)

I love avocados and could probably eat them in every meal. I crave them too when I'm marathon training.

I LOVE avocados! They are the best. And totally worth the calories for all the nutrition.

I have three avocado trees. Any time you're in the neighborhood please help yourself!

My mother in law used to make sweet avocado shakes, which were rather different and ridiculously rich.
