Monday Motivation - Week 25 ~ What Counts.....

"Anyone can run 20 miles.
It's the next six that count."
~  Barry Magee, marathon bronze in Rome, 1960

As a half-marathon enthusiast and newbie runner,
I'd say the same thing, but this way:
"Anyone can run 10 miles.
It's the next three that count."

Or maybe this....
"Anyone can say they're going to run/walk.
It's getting out the door that counts."
(That's what counts in my world!)

What counts in
your
healthy world?

Own your journey.  One run at a time.

Love that quote! For me, it's not so much about getting out the door, but making the most of my time once I'm out there. Some days it's way too easy to slack! :)

I like this. Push past what you think you can do is an important thing in life.

Pushing past the physical pain is truly what the marathon is about for me. Yep, you need to be physically fit but it becames a whole different ball game once the pain sets in. These are excellent quotes to remember when out there and it hurts!! Have a great week, girl :).

Love those! I always tell myself, 'Don't think, Just go'. It helps me get out the door...don't think about it, just go through the motions and before you know it you're out there running. :)

It is what you do FOR YOU that counts...not what others are doing. Run your own race!

Anyone can examine themselves and say "I need to change"...

its actually putting forth the effort that counts!

How many people say "I need to get healthy, I need to lose weight, I need to go back to school, I need to stop smoking, I need to be a better parent, etc."
and how many actually follow through? It makes all the difference.
