Weirdest Pet Peeve: Funky Feet!

This little piggy.... should get a pedi!

I'm almost ashamed to admit that I have a number of pet peeves, but one of the biggest is... gross, nasty feet. Ironically, I'm a FL native (read: LOTS of flip flops!) and as I've become a runner, especially when training for longer distances, my own feet have taken on an entirely new appearance... runners, you KNOW what I'm talking about! **Requires lots of maintenance!**

Ohh I hated my feet before running, now they're worse haha, maybe I should get a pedi too :-)

I know what you mean :)

I stopped going to the pedi a few years ago but when I started running again it was so necessary to go back so now I am.

Ugh. My feet are looking awful now that I am in double digit long runs. I keep thinking about getting a pedi, but feel like it might be a waste of money considering how beat up my feet are after 10+ miles. I try to do it on my own. It's a never ending battle.

Beach sand does wonders for exfoliating your feet! Not sure if thats true, but my feet look decent and I never do anything except expose them to lots of rough beach sand :)

Grody feet are nasty. I always wonder when I see people with yucky feet and wearing flip flops or sandals how come they aren't embarassed to expose their feet to everyone. Take care of that nastiness first.

I personally don't like pedis. I keep my feet looking good by exfoilating and keeping the toes polished. No cracked disgusting skin here. <>

I don't run enough to have runner's feet, but mine are funny shaped. I would try the Vibrams, but I cannot imagine cramming my feet into them! Mine don't look like that at all LOL

I do them myself. I hate the idea of other people seeing my missing toenails.

A funny thing happened to my daughter and me last summer...we were on vacation in the Bahamas and booked a pedicure for all four of us girls...sadly, the person who worked on the two of us (runners) had a "rough" and "tough" time...you know what I mean...

We were thrilled and they were proud when we left with smooth as a baby's fanny feet...

When we got back from our trip and went out for our first run.....OMGoodness....nature had intended for those to be there for a reason! It was painful...

We keep em smooth, but keep them tough...and of course polished always!

p.s. your blog really brightens my day....

Wow! I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one grossed out by nasty feet AND.... I'm in GOOD company fighting the ever-present runners' feet! LOL

Unfortunately, when I was diagnosed w/ diabetes in 2006, manis/pedis were immediately nixed, due to infections from tools, etc... BOO!! So, lots of work on my own feet, thank you very much!

Harold, we're all coming over to your neighborhood to hit the beach and exfoliate our feet!

PIGGY PARTY AT THE BEACH!!! :)

Leelee, OUCH! Lesson learned, I guess. As for polish, my nails are almost too short to polish, unless a dab counts, even on nailbeds (missing toe nails). Learned that little trick from Jill at Finishing is Winning and Morgan at CAUTION: Redhead Running - over lunch! LOL

Thanks for your input, guys (and kinds words, Leelee!)....

**HUGS!**
