In honor of 10.10.10,
I decided to visit 10 blogs today.....
some old, some new.
I decided to visit 10 blogs today.....
some old, some new.
It's amazing the stories you read when you spend a few minutes hours, checking in on folks...
I started in my Reader, scrolling through titles, clicking to see what was going on around 'town' (funny concept in the blogosphere!). Here's a little of what I found....
- Momma of 3 joined the ranks of 'fallen, but still running' club recently. Ouch! Sending you 'feel better' vibes! I think we've all taken that first fall that changed how we run... If you haven't yet, just wait. It's coming.... and it (usually) ain't pretty(!).
- Kirsten is asking for input about great places to run, and offering a chance to win a pair of Injinji socks in return for your contribution to her list. If you haven't tried Injinjis yet, take a look. I've called them 'mittens for your feet' in the past, (I guess 'gloves' would be the more correct term), because each toe gets its own condo. I wrote about them here and here. We Miami natives don't necessarily know a lot about gloves vs. mittens.... I googled the images! No matter what you call them, check out Kirsten's request here.
- I found Kirsten via the Java Joggers' post about their Sunday group run in the changing NE landscape. Um, can you say beautiful? Perfect weather and colorful backdrops... running in NJ in October = color
- Also checked in on Lisa, who's running the Nike Women's Half Marathon next weekend. YIKES! She's thinking she might want to run the Napa Valley, California RAGNAR relay September, 2011, casually mentioning it here. Lisa, count me in! We WILL be there. Running. Pure Food. Vineyards. Spas. Easy decision. *She sent me an e-mail to say she was just 'thinking aloud' and now peeps are stepping up. Be careful what you put out in the universe.... :-)
- Laura, our UK blogger buddy, shared her thoughts on Mule Bars. Organic Ingredients. Fair Trade. 1% for the Planet. I'm interested! Supporting Good Causes and Good People.... always. Here's what Laura said.
- U.S. blogger Steel Springs has gone international on us, moving for a while to China with her husband. Read more here and check out her beautiful photos!!
- Tall Mom is cheering fellow runners on today at the Portland Marathon . Have fun!
And finally,
a
very sad note,
but one I most want to share...
- I saw Meg posted, too, mentioning fellow blogger & runner Rick. Since I'm married to a Rick, I was curious. Sadly, I learned it was a tribute post to a fellow runner who ran his last run this weekend, according to his son. Meg's tribute is beautiful, and Rick's wife Kathy, posted a short entry for the blog world. So sad when someone dies. So sad when we lose a member of our running community. Please keep Rick's 'everyday-guy-run-for-fun' spirit with you....
Friends,
run happy,
live fully,
keep the spirit of others deep in your soul,
and say 'thank you' to (and for) those
who are part of your journey ~
in thought, in deed,
and in memory.
Robin
Own your journey. One run at a time.
