Time to say hello to an old Turtles Tribe friend! Since we first met this lady, she has added several races to her résumé, including the Chicago Marathon, her first-ever 26.2.
Friends, I'd like you to meet Ashley from
Welcome back, Ashley! Now that you've added 26.2 to your dance card, we'd love to know...How would you describe yourself as a runner?

A middle-of-the-pack mover
Tweaking the Twenties
Casual runner
How long running?

To run a marathon! I completed my first in Chicago on 10-10-10.

What is the most interesting or unusual thing
you've seen during a run?
Probably people dressed in costumes at races
instead of regular athletic wear
Which race distances have you completed?
5K
10K
Half Marathon
Marathon
I've run a 7.2 Miler and 10 Miler race.
15K's are hard to come by where I live.
Favorite race distance(s)? Why?
I would have to say .......
..... because it's short enough to keep a fast pace, while it's long enough to feel like you ran a good distance.
When do your feet hit the road?
I usually run after work during the week and first thing in the morning on weekends.
Treadmill, streets, or trails, and why?
Streets/paved trail around the river...I live in Boston so that's what we got!

LEARNING experience to date?
You don't always beat your time, sometimes you have to stop,
but each time you tie your laces,
you get a fresh start to reach your goal.
What advice would you give to someone new to running?
Push yourself enough without getting injured.
If you can run 10 minutes, run 12 the next.
Run 1 mile, and try for 2 the next time.
The little steps add up to bigger goals eventually.
Be patient with yourself and believe you can do it and you will!
SHORT-term and LONG-term running goals?
Break a 30 minute 5K/60 minute 10K, PR my Half Marathon Time of 2:19:27.
Run a marathon straight through without walking!
Mileage goal for 2010?
700 Miles
V is for volunteer......Any?
No, not yet
Have an extra-special race that you think EVERYONE should try to run?
Chicago Marathon!
2 million spectators...
They will get you through it!
Thanks, Ashley, for being part of the Turtles Tribe
and for sharing your story. :-)
Every runner has a story.
