Secret Santa Revealed!

Came home from work late yesterday to find this....

waiting in our mailbox.  Cool!!

Turns out, my buddy Jill aka One Little Tri Girl, got my name.   This was particularly neat because Jill and I met last February when she flew to Florida for the Race with Donna Marathon, which she ran with our other buddy, The Redhead.  We three had a lively lunch before they headed up to Jax.

Jill's also a member of the 2010 Pay it Forward 500 Mile Challenge, donating her earned monies for miles to her favorite organization.  Read more [here].  Then, in my recent absence from the bloggy world, I was disappointed to realize I missed her holiday card exchange.  Imagine my surprise to learn she got my name for the gift exchange!

Boy did she do an awesome job playing Santa!

Check out the gifts galore this NJ lady sent....

Apologies for the blurry photo. It was  late and I was excited to receive such wonderful things that I was (apparently) a little giddy with the camera.

Tapping into my 'turtle personality' and penchant for reflection, Ms. Jill picked perfect gifts:

journal with this phrase on the front, "In the midst of our lives, we must find the magic that makes our souls soar" (so true!!!)

An adorable little book that ironically I saw at the bookstore last spring and loved, but never mentioned to anyone, instead placing it in my amazon cart for 'later purchase' ~  Lessons of a Turtle: (The Little Book of Life)  The inside cover says it's "A wise little book about slowing down and finding your own path.... a celebration of of simplicity."  PERFECT.  When I first saw it last spring, I remember thinking, THIS is the kind of book I'd like to write someday, and here it was.  Now, my dear friend "NJ Jill" has given me a copy. THANK YOU.  BTW:  Jill, did you notice the author lives in NJ??

There's also a  beautiful, monogrammed bookmark which will be put to good use in my collection of ongoing readings, and the 'piece de resistance' ~ Turtles candy.  LOL  Yum!  Those, I admit, ummm... disappeared  late this afternoon. Poor turtles).  :(    They didn't seem to mind.  Too much.  They ARE candy, after all.  :)

And in true One Little Tri Girl style, one of the funniest Christmas cards I've seen this year.  Seems Blitzen got busted playing hooky... ha ha!

I can't thank Jilly enough for being so thoughtful and timely.  Jill, you did an amazing job playing Santa, and I am very, very grateful.  Thank you, friend

Also, big THANKS (and **hugs**)  to our buddy "CO Jill" @ Run with Jill for coordinating this year's gift exchange.  You and your 'assistant' did a terrific job.  I can't thank you enough for the hours and thought you guys put into this project.  YOU ROCK!

On the sending end... I mailed my Santa Surprise Monday (priority mail),

but I don't think my new bloggy friend has received it yet.  I'm thinking it should arrive tomorrow??  Sure hope so!!  Can't wait!

Until then, hang in there, friends... only a few more days of dealing w/ idiots disguised as  shoppers, an inbox overflowing with last-minute deals, and the urge to have 'just one bite' of everything baked in the kitchen.  :)

No, really... enjoy the spirit of the season and be safe out there.  Drivers are distracted... Enjoy your run, whether road, trail, or tread.

I am sooooo happy you loved them all. My favorite part of Christmas is finding the most perfect gifts for people. I smiled through reading this whole thing because I was so happy you loved all your gifts as much as I had hoped. I found the journal first...knew that was SO YOU...the turtle book was a surprise find and I just HAD to get it. I read through it myself before mailing and loved it. In fact, I loved it so much, I got myself one. I knew you would really appreciate it all and was so happy to have you as my buddy!

Love you Robin!!!!

Thank goodness that gift finally arrived, I was have been getting earfuls from NJ Jill about where was it?!! Ahhh, but only in a GOOD way, love hearing from her. Yep, that Santa must have known who at least a few good matches were, you scored great...and more importantly, I know you meant every single word of gratitude!!

Have a very Merry Christmas, Robin! I hope 2011 brings our paths together in person - how fun would that be!!
