Compression sleeves??
A couple of months ago, I decided to try a new (to me) piece of running gear - around the house first, then, after feeling rather 'snuggly,' out on the street...
compression sleeves for my legs
What's all the fuss? I had read a few things here and there about them, but thought, as a diabetic, that compression anything would NOT be a good idea. Turns out, diabetics were wearing compression socks long before the running world made them cool.
Though not a new concept to runners, I found myself intrigued watching Shalane Flanagan run her 26.2 through the streets of New York, sportin' her knee-high white compression socks. She rocked the NYC Marathon .... and the socks!

I admit... I don't look nearly as cool, sleek or muscular as Ms. Flanagan when I wear my compression sleeves. Nor do I run as fast, but like Shalane and other runners who swear by compression gear, my legs feel good.
My muscles are warm, which means a little less warm-up time required. Circulation is improved, and swelling is reduced, resulting in less fatigue postrun.
My vote: a definite YES on compression gear! Caution: try different brands and read lots of reviews before purchasing. It seems the compression strength varies widely. Also, make sure you get a proper fit (length and snugness).
happy running, friends....

I wore them at Chicago! And no shin splints! The power of compression. Now if I can only convince myself to get the compression pants and deal with the muffin top!
Thanks for the info. I have never tried a pair, but I want to! Maybe I will try some out this winter....do they keep you warm at all??
I. love. compression. gear!!!
What brand did you get?
I love compression socks
I want to try them so bad! I just need to find a pair that won't break the bank!
Thanks for sharing. I was wondering if they would be good for the recreational runner. What brand did you get?

Thanks for the review, I've been interested in some for a while but it's going to be a while before I can bring myself to pay that much for socks hehe
For those concerned about cost, I was, too, which is another reason it took a while to try them. They are, in my opinion, worth every dollar (and then some).
I tried (and wear regularly) The Zensah brand. Love them!!!
And yes, they do keep me warm. Others may feel differently? I think you can purchase a winter version - thicker/warmer.
I like them...and they are cute so there you go! :0) lol
I've been wanting to try a pair. Just might have to do it.
