Forgive me running gods for I have sinned....
It's been 3 months since my last run.
Yes, 3 months. What the heck happened?
A lot. No, really. A lot can happen in three months. For example....
But that's the beauty of running, isn't it? The roads are always there, forgiving our transgressions, and waiting quietly for us to return....
We just have to get out there and START.
Happy running, friends....

A lot. No, really. A lot can happen in three months. For example....
- Two books can move closer to completion
- A consulting business can move closer to a full-time endeavor
- Focus can be regained; a 'life mission' can be strengthened
- Content can be developed
- Online classes can be taken
- Professional connections can be made
- Projects can be launched while ideas can take shape
- Books (lots of them!) can be read
- Thousands upon thousands of words can be written......
Oh, wait. Other things can happen in three months, too....
- Pounds can be gained
- Pants 'may' have to be replaced with larger ones
- Muscles can forget what they're supposed to do
- Fat can turn up in the most unforgiving places
- Lungs can forget their capability
- Running shoes can get dusty (well, not really dusty!)
It's been 3 months since my last run.
Until last week.
Yes, last Thursday started with a one-mile walk/run on the treadmill at o' dark thirty. Felt good. Felt slow. Felt productive. Felt like starting all over....
Started my day at 4:00 a.m. today, with two miles. Did I mention I can't sleep much these days? My little brain is on overload, buzzing with ideas! So I hit the treadmill (well, thankfully, not really hit it), with a bit more running thrown in for good measure. Yep, a few four-minute intervals at a 14:30 pace mixed in with 'quick' walking.
Ha! How's that for turtle running??

Glad you are back!
Welcome back to running! Your last three months sound productive!
Awesome to be back.
There are a lot of types of fitness. Mental fitness, family fitness, job fitness . . . You have been busy with all the other types - but physical fitness is always waiting for you.
Enjoy!
You are forgiven my child,
Now, say 3 I LOVE TO RUN! I HATE TO RUN's
I have taken several Vacations, from running, in the last few years. The only problem is, the older I get, the longer it takes to build up my strength and lung capacity.
You have been extremely productive on your running hiatus! Did I miss something...are you writing a book?
Good job on your workouts. I would rather run on a trail but had to use the treadmill on Monday, due to icy roads...
I know why some call it the Dreadmill!
You've been a busy girl!!! Welcome back to the place where you'll always find open arms and wide stretches of roads...
Glad to hear from you, Robin - wowza, you have been busy! It's hard to fit everything in and it seems like there is something that always gets the short end of the stick...nature of life, I guess. Glad you were able to get your run on, though. :)
I have found the roads are quite forgiving!
I have missed you. Huge from NJ!
Yahoo! Good for you for getting back at it! Maybe you'll start to sleep better too.
Good for you for getting back in to it!
I wake up in the night with ideas too. It's crazy. It's a good sort of stress, but I need my sleep!
Welcome Back!! I'm starting AGAIN too! However, your better is better than my better right now ;)
A great way to keep on track now that you're back is by joining a running community like www.justfinish.com and/or Daily mile where you get motivation and support! Congrats on finding your way back to the roads.
