That's very interesting about Sinterklaas and Christmas in the Netherlands. So this weekend will be the 'original' celebration (for the kids) and then more gift-giving on Dec 25th? Thanks for explaining - I love learning new things! :-)

I think I am becoming more and more bummed about not running as the OUC 1/2 approcahes this weekend....tried another 1/2 mile and between the knee and hip pain, could barely walk for the next day and half....gonna call doc again this week to see if he has any other suggestions cuz I'm pretty much over it!!

I need to explain something about Sinterklaas: he's not the same guy as Santa Clause even though he gives gifts too.

It's a holiday in The Netherlands on December 5th where children gets presents from Sinterklaas (exactly what SC does). It's a nice holiday for kids but we don't celebrate it. It's getting more common here in Holland to exchange gifts for Christmas
